Dragg-on
left the petcock valve on off, and find out when youre 1/2 way down the track? can this be harmfull to your motor? seize it maybe?
NYUK
sure it can seize it.by shutting the petcock off your creating a little lean condition.no fuel all air.

fixitrod
Not only lean, but no oil !!!
boonman
At high RPM, shutting off the fuel supply, while keeping the air supply open can be DETRIMENTAL to your engine. This would be the eqivalent of a massive air leak. If the motor is hot enough, it may stay running just long enough for damage to occur. (Like melted piston(s) and/or siezure).
