Engine bogs after WOT for long periods

Recommended Posts

My bike has started running a bit strange. If i run full throttle for say 10 seconds or more, then return to half throttle, then back to full throttle quickly it seems to bog down and i have to wait a few seconds and tease it back to wide open again. Could this be the carbs not filling up quick enough? I can't see it being a jetting issue IMO.

Running it through the gears wide open is perfectly fine.

Any ideas?

whats your setup.  motor carbs ETC so we can know a little about it.

DMC 916 pipes, K&N filter, no lid on box. Carbs and engine otherwise stock. (TORS removed)

320 mains, clip on 4th position. 141 feet elevation, 28 °C at the time of ride.

either that, or do you think the RPM is dropping enough under half throttle that it is struggling to pull and needs to be down shifted?  6th gear the motor has to work a lot harder to recover the momentum

Possible scenario. It is starving for fuel. You are sucking the bowls dry and they recover when you let off.

This what i thought. On this basis though it should bog at WOT the first time, not on returning to WOT. So i don't think it can be this.
