Can anyone tell me where this spring is from? (Inside Engine)

Recommended Posts

I just tore down my banshee motor after it locked up, one of the screws from the clutch basket backing plates came out and got jammed up in my gears. When pulling off the clutch cover this small spring was sitting in the engine. I haven't been able to find out where it came from by looking through the manual. Anyone got an idea of where it came from? http://imgur.com/a/U8MtO

Looks like a spring from around the inside of a seal.

When pulling the primary drive gear nut off the crank I noticed mine didn't have the conical washer, It has a hotrods crank in it so Im not sure if those cranks just don't have those or whoever owned this before me put it together wrong. Would anyone here know off hand?

They all have that washer. Yours is missing. You may as well get one to go back in.
