Banshee Vs. Yfz 450

I bought a 450 about a 2 months ago.  My friends who can beat me in a drag race have:  Modified Banshee (coolhead 20cc domes, PC pipes, ported, dual 33mm PWKS, and more)  and a modified 250R (FMF pipe, coolhead w/20cc dome, mildly ported, 35mm pwk)  I can absolutly waste a z400

It's alot closer against the 250r, between 1-3 bikes, against the banshee its like 5+ bike lengths easy.  And I can take both off the line every time, we have to race all out all gears to create those distances too.

But for MX (the reason a got this thing)  it's no contest, I can eat up both of these bikes, and the 250r was a good race for my MX shee (in MX not drag)

i think the reason the 450 is beating the shee is its not set up right, i dont have any problem dusting the 450, unless the guy on the 450 has tons of mods and is a equil rider.....

A banshee will beat a 450 stock for stock. Pretty close, but in the sand, the banshee wins.

this is wrong............

I saw a stock shee get 5 lengths put on him by a stock yfz........

I also disagree with you Sandstar.....it's definately the 450.....I have raced quite a few of the shees and it definately the 450. I own a shee and most of my buddies that have one are trying to sell it to get the 450. I love my shee as well because there's no better feel that a tricked out 2-stroke but the 450 still takes it.

I was wondering if anybody had raced or have botten a new YFZ 450. I heard that they fly up Olds in Glamis. Is this new Yamaha a threat to the banshee.

I see the two bikes as being somewhat equal. It's not the bike that is the threat, It's the rider that is the threat.so in my opinnion the bikes are equal cuz the new yamaha is 450cc at 350lbs with gas about 380-390 lbs with a rider at an average of 180-200lbs thats pretty good weight. But in the banshee's case it's a 350cc twin at 386lbs with gas about 410-420lbs with a rider of an average of 180-200lbs is a kinda heavy ride. so weight and rier give a big toll in the outcome of a race between the two also lets not forget traction (u aint goin no were fast if the tires are spinning).... in my opinion if u know how to ride a banshee real good than u are more than welcome to take home the win..if the yfz450 had a better rider it would take the win..If there were two equal riders on these machines i would say that weight makes the decision thus the 450 would win the race with equal riders. I could be wrong so dont take this as like, i am telling u this is all true. Because i have never raced the yfz450 yet.

Blue Duece, buddys shee is not set up for MX, more for dunes. My Shee, the Yellow one, was set up for MX. My Shee couldn't quite beat my buddys she in a drag, but I could take him in MX easy.

I thought we were more on the topic of "Drag Racing" which is why I mentioned it first. But as far as MX, I definetly like the 450 More.

i trade off with a buddy who has a 450, his bike is nice once he dumps some more cash into it will be a real contender, but right now i can smoke him, that 450 is no peice of shit, but requires a great deal of motor mods to be able to hang with the beefed shee's he could easly smoke a piped shee on the track, but a fast shee with great suspension and chassis mods will beat him..once you have 30 ponies on him and can hook, he cant hang....

Me and verdoneracing went to the dunes last weekend, we whatched pped 450 spank every banshee that challenged it. The banshee wins through the wumps on olds but as soon as they go pass that point the 450 passes the banshee.my dad raced the guy on the 450( my dad has raced for over 20 years) the kid on the 450 wasn't the best rider but he still managed to beat my dad. I don't think weight plays a big role in it. You have to have one pimped out banshee to be able to spank a good rider on a 450. <_<

I' m sorry to say, but the yfz450 is just an four stroke like every other one (except for mx). I drag race them all the time. One of my best friends has one now, so I ride it all the time. The only reason they feel so fast is because there geared down from mx racing. This also makes them feel fast at the dunes. If your on a shee with pipes and stock gearing racing a piped 450, watch out. Dune races dont really get out of fourth gear. A geared down mx four stroke is going to have the advantage. If you gear down the shee, things change. We geared my friends 450 up to get a little more top end, and there just like any other four stroke quad. We ended up going back down.

Stock for stock the 450 beats the shee hands down, but so do some other four strokes. If you have a piped shee and you lose to a stock 450, you need to work on your riding skills. Four strokes are easyer to race, and you have to be a little more skilled on the shee. But thats part of the fun!

For mx the yfz450 is by far the quad to have, but for racing the shee is king. The yfz450 is not even the fastest fourstroke! The Predatory is faster. I see these quads race every weekend, and the 450 will get the jump but the Predatory will past it every time. I race both these fourstrokes every weekend and kill both of them. MOD FOR MOD NO FOUR STROKE CAN BEAT A SHEE!!! If some 450 has beat you and its playing head games with you, pull it together and get your sh-t correct. Because its you, not the bike!!

A hundred yards really ain't no test, especially if you wanna demonstrate how bad you can embarras a machine.I've seen some 440 ex that look dam good on 100yds.

My shee remains in striking distance with the 5 hundy in 100yds..But run it out another 50 yds and the CR just flatout leaves it.

Deuce, have you ever ran him out on the top-end?
