Cool heads on stock cylinders

Recommended Posts

Do i need to change stock piston to run a dome head on a cool head? And what cc dome would i need to use on stock motor without switching to racing gas and get the most compression?

Need to know your elevation to give accurate answer on cc. You don't have to change piston. Just make sure whomever you order from knows what piston you're running.

I dont know if this motors been touched so i beleive im running stock pistons. Whats better to run the stock piston or dome piston?

All pistons have a dome shape to them.  There is only a couple of things that could cause you to need to run a special dome and that would be if you have a stroker crank or after market cylinders like cub or serval cylinders.  Most likely you just have stock cylinders/pistons so you can run standard off the shelf domes.

If you are 3000 ft elevation or higher you could run 21cc domes on pump fuel.  If you are sea level to 3000 ft you should run 22 cc domes.  No jetting changes are required for increased compression but when you increase compression you increase the chance for detonation so you want to make sure you are not running too lean on the main jets.

Unbolt your head, conferm what piston is in your engine, stock or ? Then i would call driveline performance and have a proper set of domes made for your banshee. They are sharp guys and will help u out with that. Also thiers a big diff between "off the shelf domes" and a custom set built for your engine. Sorta sounds like your new to banshee mechanics? Dont mean to be a jerk just from what im reading in the post, if so u might be better off finding a sight sponser in your area and have them do the domes for ya. Thiers a bit more to it then just slappin "domes in" hope this helps man.
