Strm Trpr
Ok i have ordered the hubs and spindles from an A-arm banshee and yfz450 breaks dual pistons. should work correct? Yes, definitely! In order to really take advantage of the dual piston calipers you need to try and score a MC from an 09 or newer YFZ450R. I want the sleeker look and still not sure what bars ill be going with and ill be getting all this powder coated again.. i told my wife if we did this project it would be a spare no expense kind of project. if you havent already look at the images page or the other post i made you can see where im at in the build and i have not even bought stuff for the motor yet and that will be a cub kit or something similar. RagunCajun
2009 YFZ450R's or newer have the best master cylinder to run the dual piston calipers from the raptor or 450. Would the average joe notice a difference from the pre 09 yfz450 master to the 09+?
Strm Trpr
Would the average joe notice a difference from the pre 09 yfz450 master to the 09+? I do not have a clue, but I'd imagine there's a need for the upgraded MC or Yamaha wouldn't have done it. I went straight from stock braking to my set-up in my profile. Night and day difference! From what I've read, and don't quote me on this, I want to say the 09 MC is more progressive.

Better functioning and performance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
hoppedupandcutdown
OEM part numbers for 2008 YFZ450 and 2010 YFZ450R front master cyl. are the same

I might have been thinking about the 450R rear hubs that make the axle 1.5" wider. Those have to be from a YFZ450R which the first model year was 2009. As far as the 450's front brake master cylinder goes, the cut off point is 2007 and newer. 2007 part # is 5D3-2583T-02-00 2006 part # is 5TG-2583T-10-00 I apologize and I hope I corrected the previous misinformation.
