Strm Trpr
It did this before I stuck the basket on. It's totally isolated to the crank I can say that much. I'm baffled. The Titos convinced me to just say run it but sober me says it's should be torn back apart lol I'm trying to figure out how Jason assembled that motor and didn't hear a crunch, and he didn't feel resistance while torqueing things down and then POP! He had to have both felt and heard ^^^ carnage. And I'm glad the "sober" him went against his other self's bad judgement and decided against just running it as is! Strm Trpr
He must've had the music cranking and the air compressor roaring while overtightening all of the case nuts with a 1/2" impact gun...
bigweav81
Give the guy some credit. ..........not easy to assemble the engine while snapping pics of a naked ass next to him! Sent from my SM-S820L using Tapatalk
sleeper06
It sounds crazy but this why I don't guarantee work unless I assemble it , too many things can happen and then you get marked for life as a bad builder. I also give detailed instructions on how I want it assembled
sleeper06
And Jason this isn't directed towards you just an example how easy shit can get fucked up
locogato11283
I've never torqued bolts or nuts in OEM cases.
J-Madd
Well here's the fucking issue. That asshole alignment pin was off by 1/2 inch and busted the bearing I have done the same unfortunately. I heard the pop though. Most of my cranks don't have those pins and I wasn't paying attention.
JasonB
I'm trying to figure out how Jason assembled that motor and didn't hear a crunch, and he didn't feel resistance while torqueing things down and then POP! He had to have both felt and heard ^^^ carnage. And I'm glad the "sober" him went against his other self's bad judgement and decided against just running it as is! i heard a pop but it wasnt really a loud carnage pop, it sounded like cases clapping together and i didnt stop to think anything was wrong. It didnt take any effort to pop the bearing so it didnt occur to me i fucked up. Shit happens, not the end of the world. And Jason this isn't directed towards you just an example how easy shit can get fucked up its all good man i totally get it. I wouldnt warranty shit if i were you lol. Theres way too many variables with something like this in another persons hands. I've assembled probably a dozen 2 stroke motors but never a twin cylinder motor like this before so i dont feel bad that i fucked up a little. Not a big deal, Precision Powersports is swapping the bearing out for me now and its a lesson learned at a reasonable price. Im decent at putting shit together so ya im pissed i missed something simple like this but thats life wiating for PPS to get back to me with the crank, anxious to get the motor together so we can pack it this weekend for Glamis next week
J-Madd
You could be put a new bearing on yourself. If the old one is stuck a dremel or cut off wheel will take care of it.
Ayesully810
Jason at least you have a good learning experience now! First time I did my clutch I ordered all new stuff from FAST When I was putting on the pressure plate I snapped a bolt off into the inner hub threads Too much protein..or not enough brain.
