Zachaweia17 Posted January 27, 2017 Report Posted January 27, 2017 I have a 1999 Banshee with tors delete, stock crank, stock head, stock air box, with K&N single filter, stock carbs, stock exhaust, and 64.50mm Vito's SuperStock Pistons. I My elevation is around 800 feet and will be riding in 75 to 85 degrees F. What should my adjustments be to run right. I will be using 93 octane with 32:1 R-2 oil. Thanks! Quote

hoppedupandcutdown Posted January 27, 2017 Report Posted January 27, 2017 What jets are in it now? What makes you say it isn't running right? Quote

I cant remember what the stock jetting is, but the only thing you listed that would require a larger main jet is the K&N filter, probably one or 2 sizes larger. You can probably use the stock pilot jets, you may need to make the idle mixture a little richer with the air fuel screws, try one turn out from seated. Pistons wont change the jetting. Your oil mix ratio sounds a little on the rich side too, I would mix about 40:1. Quote
bigweav81 Posted January 27, 2017 Report Posted January 27, 2017 Vito says that because the piston has been cut to somewhat mimic the exhaust port being raised. I ran those once, and rode a trail ported banshee from a guy that was riding in the area......went home, and broke it down, and sold them cheap. Sent from my SM-S820L using Tapatalk Quote

I'm not saying they are junk. I'm saying if your really looking for more power then go with an actual port job Ronnie Dobbs Sent from my SM-S820L using Tapatalk Quote
sleeper06 Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 For some reason every time I've jetted a motor with those pistons they wanted more fuel than I would think but being you have stock pipes is kinda different I would start high n work down 260-280 and work down Quote

bigweav81 Posted January 29, 2017 Report Posted January 29, 2017 To be honest....I've never ran, or dealt with a stock exhaust set up. I'd look into a cheap set of fmf, or t5s. I'm not sure what you're after, but a pipe change would be a bigger improvement then those pistons. I'd say pilot is probably ok at 25. Main maybe start at 260, and work down until you find the sweet spot.....again I'm just guessing. Sent from my SM-S820L using Tapatalk 1 Quote
