camp0429
TTO is a great option. The mr gasket temp cap hasn't gave me any problems and has worked great. Was yours the import one and what psi was it? Are you sure you didn't fill your radiator up too much? Just curious because I haven't had any issues with mine. I did replace it once with another one but you can tell when it's not working the gauge isn't reading the temp at all I can't remember now which one it was, I do remember something about import and if I remember right I think it maybe was 16psi. I got the part number wrote down somewhere. Radiator was not over filled, I put the cap on and away I went, probably didnt have an hour run time and coolant started pukin out the over flow. It wasnt hot at all, wasnt even runnin it too hard. I put the stock cap back on and all was good. I tried it a couple more times and it did the same thing. Kinda pissed me off since I just spent $40 or so on it and cut up my stock radiator cover so I could see it.
camp0429
That's sucks. I dont want that. It does kinda screw me up at times. There was one time last summer when it was hotter than hell out and we were runnin pretty hard in tight woods, I got it up to 230 before I noticed how hot it was. Thats the hottest I ever had it so that temp will be on the display for a few seconds, then it switchs back to the actual temp. kinda fucks you up when you look down and see 230

ClaudeMachining
at what temp should you shut the engine off? I shut off mine if it goes more than
ClaudeMachining
I like how you put the protective spring on that aftermarket hose Perron. And I want to look into those temp gauges. I like the screen. It's ugly but IMO functions better the readout on the hose. lol!
ClaudeMachining
Hell, a couple years would even be fine. You figure, $10-$20 a year for maintenance over the long run isnt a lot. Especially on something vital as engine temp. Dont be cheap, make yourself a nice gift : http://www.digatronusa.com/products-atvs.shtml
