Canadianshee
Just received a new oversize rad with silicone hoses from China off of eBay. Seller is winner racing. Rad made it to my door in 9 day, fast for coming from China to Canada. The Rad was was packaged and protected well as there was damage to the box itself, but rad was not damaged. The rad it self seems to be put together well. There are a few spots where the welding is not the greatest, but total cost for rad and full set of silicon hose for 140.00 Canadian, so no complaints here. The cap does look a little cheap will prob try to find a cap with a temp gauge built in to replace with. RagunCajun
I have one on my bike. It was about $55-$60 shipped US dollars. I chose to just run cheap hose from NAPA. Works fine so far. I have a little under 13 hours on the motor. Mounting holes were great and had to be modded. I didnt look at the welds to see how good they are. For how cheap they are, it's just fine. Canadianshee
I put it up against the stock rad as frame is out for powder coating. Two of the mounts look spot on but one on the left seems off a bit. Will know for sure when frame gets back. For price I can deal with moding the mount. Agreed compared to price from the Yamaha stealer
RIPPIN' IT UP
Got one in use now been there for 4 plus years now without a single problem. Mounts where a little tight to fit, that was about it. Cost a little over 100 Aussie dollars, welds are some of the best I've seen in a while. So I got a spare one from ASI for 90 bucks just in case I put a stick through the first one. Had a few close calls. bluebanshee98
Loosen the side radiator brackets on the frame. move accordingly and put all 3 bolts in. Then tighten down. Some fit a little better then the others but do work Edited January 27, 2017 by bluebanshee98
Canadianshee
I will check that one out. I was looking at the Trail Tech one with the temp, speed, rpm ECT but from reading on here, they seem to be hit and miss for working correctly. Would rather have something simple that works. Very clean motor by they way
RagunCajun
I like how you put the protective spring on that aftermarket hose Perron. And I want to look into those temp gauges. I like the screen. It's ugly but IMO functions better the readout on the hose.
camp0429
I can verify that the Mr. Gasket temp cap is junk, I ran one for about an hour before it started puking coolant out the over flow. Put stock cap back on and no issues. I tried the temp cap several times with the same result. I went with the TTO temp gauge, been installed for about a year with no issues at all. The only thing I think is kinda silly is it don't turn off. Supposedly the battery lasts a long time, but I would think an on/off switch wouldn't have been a bad idea. RagunCajun
holy crap 7 year? sold!
RagunCajun
Hell, a couple years would even be fine. You figure, $10-$20 a year for maintenance over the long run isnt a lot. Especially on something vital as engine temp.
camp0429
Damn, thats a long time. The only other thing I would change about it would be for it not to flash back and forth from highest temp to the actual temp. I mean, it's cool to know the highest temp, but I would prefer to push a button to see it and would rather it stay on the actual temp. Kinda screws me up some times when you glance down at it and it shows the high reading

The mr gasket temp cap hasn't gave me any problems and has worked great. Was yours the import one and what psi was it? Are you sure you didn't fill your radiator up too much? Just curious because I haven't had any issues with mine. I did replace it once with another one but you can tell when it's not working the gauge isn't reading the temp at all
