yamaha04
Hey guys. Dented my Toomey pipe. If reasreched a few methods. I will try the freezer method first. But had a question about the heating with air pressure method. My dent isn't to bad. But needs fixed. My worry is I will ruin my chrome I have T5's that have been rechromed and they are simply beautiful. Will heating cherry red with map gas ruin my chrome ?? hoppedupandcutdown
Saw a video somewhere on the net where a guy used a pressure washer set up.....worked well Imo. Sent from my SM-S820L using Tapatalk I saw that video and was fairly impressed. Does anyone know why or if water pressure would do a better job than air pressure? hoppedupandcutdown
While I completely understand that, does it matter since its the pressure pushing the dent? I mean, take a combustion cylinder with water in it, and the rod bends, the force actually comes from elsewhere. I mean, my shop air would split a pipe for sure if I could seal the ends proper. Do you not think he used a pressure washer just because it's what he had available that built pressure?
bigweav81
I'll try to dig up that vid. Not sure where I saw it. Sent from my SM-S820L using Tapatalk
hoppedupandcutdown
I guess I need a dented pipe for testing. Well, a pipe, I think I can make dents.
sheerider11
Heating it will ruin the chrome. Do not freeze it. You cant concentrate the force of the ice. You can crack the pipe.

J-Madd
Here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7o-MSOES1M Definitely safer than air. There are some holes in my shop ceiling from the air method. (I did not do it)
