penguin
Ok I hope most of the top rider/builders will chime in on this. My question is what crank and cc's/cylinder combination will it take to achieve 125-150 horse power on race gas. I'm thinking 10m 535cc cheetah may make it on lower side of 125hp. Any thoughts??????? trickedcarbine
Whattya trying to do with the motor? A 10mil Super Cub or DM would make it happen easily. What's your budget?

penguin
it will be put on asphalt, back in 2004 I put together a 10mil 535cc.. cheetah cylinder is what they were called when they first came out and it ran 5:90's with 225lb rider on race gas and nitrous.. but now I been out of the game almost 10 years and all these new applications gives a broad range to choose from. so now I'm trying to eliminate some of the guess work. my goal is between 125-150hp on race gas, and add a little nitrous. but it seems as most are running alky which I'm not familiar with so I have been reading up on it and talking with different tuners that have the experience. I'm getting ready to drop the cash on an engine that will to the job. looking to run mid to low 5's in 1/8th mile asphalt... I have talked with one builder offering a 10mil 611dm motor that he claims will hit those numbers at a cost of 9k. this was the first call and I'm still researching options. that's the purpose of this thread is to get input on what its going to take to achieve this. I picked up a quick "16" chassis I believe is what its called built by black label racing. bare frame weighs in at 42lbs and measures in at 83"

I'd build a Twister motor if you're gonna spray. I've heard they love the nitrous. Hell I'd build a Twister anyway if you can get a hold of one. 78 x 70. penguin
I will call redline and couple more and see what a 24dm is going to set me back then. That's definitely above my goal and mite be above my budget. We will see.

That's definitely above my goal and mite be above my budget. We will see.I have a 24 Mil Twister Sniper motor. It's ~ 850 cc. Complete motor, Mattoon billet cases, 12 plate clutch and side covers, billet transmission. Can probably save you quite a bit and should make more power than a 24 mil DM.
