registered user
Funny that no dedicated glamis bike has a fan on them. it is kinda funny. mostly because alot of atv riders arent very sharp. thats why we have useless products like coolhead and people buy em. when u find a bike thats over cooled, let me know. registered user
zilla its pretty foolish to follow what everybody else does especially if its wrong. like i say you wont find one of these mtrs thats over cooled so do everything u can to cool it much as possible, but use logic. alot of gimmic out there like inline coolers and high capacity poorly designed heads

BlkBansh05
Thanks for the replies and entertainment. I ended up going with a chinese rad, vitos impeller, new gaskets/seal and engine ice. Will report back. Thanks again.
registered user
tricked have u been under a rock lol. a well developed 2stroke should not be anywhere near 210. 160 would b acceptable if you could maintain it

JTmachining
RU is cray. U should prob look at peeps using minimal cooling. They prob know the limits of wat heat n etc can do to a mtr etc

registered user
wasnt talking bout a thermo. 210 water temp is to high. that suggests inneficient cooling system, possibly to much compression, poor combustion chamber, to much spark lead. could be a combination of things.

Thack82
Looking for opinions on the "perfect" cooling system for my bike. After 2 weeks of researching I can't seem to make up my mind. Looking for field tested feedback. Thanks (example: Toomey rad, engine ice, Pro Design Impeller, Cool Head etc) Make sure your carburetors are tuned properly and the engine is free of air leaks. Both of those things can cause issues with high engine temperatures. Fuel, oil premix, pipes, dome specs, air filter maintenance, and clutch condition can also play a factor when excessive engine temps are involved. If you've checked all those potential problematic factors. Move on to the paragraph below. The increased coolant holding capacity combined with the improved and much more efficient water jacket design that the CP Industrie's Serval and PV Cheetah Mono-Cylinders and the Driveline Assassin Cylinders make a HUGE difference in the engines average operating temperatures. Changing the stock jugs out for a set of aftermarket cylinders produces the greatest reduction in engine temperatures. I also would recommend that you purchase the following cooling upgrades, components, and products: • Chariot or Noss Cool Head • GPI Oversized Aluminum Radiator • GPI Silicone Hoses • CV-4 High Pressure Radiator Cap • Mull Engineering or Chariot Billet Impeller • Chariot Quick Drain Water Pump Cover • TWO2COOL Racing Coolant/Antifreeze • Royal Purple "Purple Ice" Coolant Additive • TWO2COOL RTL-2 Crankcase Oil • 4oz of ZMAX Micro-Lubricant In Crankcase • Keep OEM Coolant Overflow Reservoir I've found all the stuff I listed above to be beneficial to the Banshee's Cooling System. I used to run hare scrambles so I came up with a few other mods that will reduce engine temperatures. I purchased a 1990 OEM Suzuki LT250 Radiator Air Scoop and modified it so it would fit and channel fresh air through the radiator while traveling at very low speeds. Another good way to get temperature reduction is increase your crankcase oil holding capacity. This is done by purchasing a Lock-Up Clutch Cover and modifying the rear crankcase vent and replacing the rear fitting and check valve with a bigger aftermarket version. I hope my input is beneficial to you and helps you out.

Ayesully810
I get that, but i think the main reason people buy coolhead is for changing dome, since cooling is not realy an issue, but i may be wrong, my experience with shee engine is pretty short. uh, I may be wrong but the cool heads have more coolant capacity too Edited January 5, 2017 by Ayesully810
