Is this water pump trash?

Motors apart for port and pro-mod, for fun I popped the impeller out and there's some light marks on the shaft, is this thing trash? I have new seals/bushings coming already. I can feel the marks with my finger nail but it's not indented seriously, do I need to replace this?

And wtf is all this marking on the inside of the water pump cover? It looks like someone took a Grindr to it. The impeller has no evidence of contact with the water pump cover so I'm confused why it looks that way.

You can see the groove in the shaft, I'd replace it. As for the cover, I can't tell if that is corrosion from some brackish water, or leftover remnants of someone's attempt to remove a gasket with a 20 grit wheel. Regardless, I'd replace it as well.

which brand do i need to go with here for the impeller, i thought i'd seen people post about certain ones that arent good quality and cause problems. Also looking at the quick drain pump covers too, theres a few on ebay for as low as $14 shipped. I may just take your advice trickedcarbine and smooth this cover down myself to save a few bucks.

Im about to search around for info on the chariot ultra high flow pumps to see if those are worthwhile. Im all for better cooling mods but im not some crazy high hp bike and their ad even states it probably wont show lower temps in the cooling system just help reduce hot spots etc.

i've already got an aluminum drive gear, i just really need the impeller at this point. a quick drain pump cover would be nice but i will smooth this one out. i never had leaking issues with it so the sealing surface never gave me trouble, its just all jacked up looking so i dont know what did it or why.

so just no mod quad.

I run oem. I know alot of ppl dont, and wont. A member that hasn't been on in awhile once said he only uses oem, and asked how many aftermarket water pump/ impellers have lasted 20 yrs, or better.

Seemed plausible to me........whatever happened to Sprinklerman?
