Dflynn926
choke hose? slides backwards? bowls on wrong carbs? Did my previous post not show? Still sounds like a choke hose issue to me. you said you had the carbs apart. did you get them back together correctly? gas on? fuel in the tank? We've seen it all here I believe my hose is on correctly, seems to be. It is possible slides spun the wrong way as they were going in. Carbs have correct bowls, did them one at a time to avoid that happening. I had carbs apart but only to rejet and clean them abit, didn't really tear into anything else, since it had been running before gas is on and almost full tank. I am sure! haha. I've forgotten it before, but I am sure it was on today, will check slides tomorrow. Edited December 12, 2016 by Dflynn926
hoppedupandcutdown
The slides only go in backwards if put in the wrong carbs, if you can see the dot in the window they are correct. It should still get fuel and start, with the throttle cracked a little though.

I will check that hose again in the morning. on the note of the hose, the choke used to stay on no issues... but now wont stay unless I hold it... could this be something, I didn't notice until I was trying to fire it with the fuel poured in. No, the brass wears and does that = normal, just hold it out. There's a thread on here on how to file the notches back.

Alrighty, then I will inspect the hose, and see if I can kick it on over in the morning. hoppedupandcutdown
You can loosen the bowl drain screws to see if there is any gas in the carbs at all. That will test the needle valves. Other than that, not starting would be a plugged pilot jet. Odd for both pilots or both needle valves to be not letting fuel in.

It would be my luck though they both go... bought an '88 F250 a couple years ago and the one tank's gauge all of a sudden wasn't moving. I changed which tank I was pulling from no biggie, stopped to get fuel when that 2nd was low. Gauge didn't move, filled other tank. no movement... both sending units quit within 20 miles of each other. so this would be my kind of luck i am hoping its the hose hahaah Edited December 12, 2016 by Dflynn926
Yamahafan#1
I have had this happen, could be a plugged pilot jet,
RIPPIN' IT UP
Check the carbs are sitting in the intake boots correctly & the balance tube between the boots is the same, as simple as it may sound these things can happen. Dflynn926
Okay, checked the tube. Seems to be correct in there. I checked left bowl and full of fuel, haven't checked right because it is kind of a pain and i didn't have a ton of time. Any ideas to try for later?
