Derpy Drifter
My right side carburetor is just spewing gas out of all the vents when I turn my fuel on today. I know the float in the bowl is calibrated good, and it just started today, didn't do it yesterday. What could it be?

Derpy Drifter
I just cleaned it literally like 2 days ago though
camp0429
Only takes 1/10th of a second for a small piece of shit to get stuck in the float needle
hoppedupandcutdown
Or a worn tip on the float needle.
Derpy Drifter
Well hitting the bowl didn't work. I guess I'm taking apart the carb again soon. I'm gonna get pod filters for the pure convience of being able to get that carbs off faster and easier
Derpy Drifter
I took it apart and cleaned it, it stopped for a little while, and now it's doing it again but slower than before. Even when I'm riding around at full throttle and high rpms it's STILL trickling?
hoppedupandcutdown
Did you examine the tip of the float needle when you had it out cleaning it?
Sandking
Float needles are a maintenance item, replace them if they're old.

Derpy Drifter
No, I didn't guess I'll be doing that then. What should I look for on it?
hoppedupandcutdown
If you're going back in, just have new ones on hand. The rubber tip will develop an indented ring and not seal
Derpy Drifter
Well, I ask because where I live, I can't get parts locally. I have to order them online and wait for shipping times. Might be a requirement when I go to move to be near an ATV store or a Yamaha dealer lol. trickedcarbine
Check float height as well and beware of dealers! These things are simple once you do it all once.
m671054
You just need to be self sufficient. Order 2 of everything. You wont run into last minute parts issues that way.
