dildaledo
Went for a short ride yesterday since the weather was decent up here. Lost a spark arrestor on my T5, couldn't find it. Started heading back very slowly so the packing didn't blow out, and my oil plug rattled out. I knew the set screw in the silencer would go eventually. I've lost & found it 3 times but this time she's gone forever lol. I don't know if toomey had a brain fart with that design but a couple of set screws doesn't sound like the best way to secure an $80 spark arrestor. Or maybe someone "customized" the silencers, no idea. I ordered a new plug through my local powersports store and it will most likely be here Tuesday, but I need to do some jetting changes and need a temporary plug. So, does anyone know the thread size!? And if you know anything about T5's what should I do about the spark arrestor? This is a frame up rebuild of an 88. I'm not trying to compromise because I'm impatient, but also not trying to buy an $80 spark arrestor that will fall off. I have the "tea cup" looking ones, they came on the bike and I've been wanting to change to a low or mid range pipe eventually. I know people that have throw fmf silencers on but I feel like the two pipes are too different and will effect performance. Any help will be appreciated. guns4children
Try and find some FMF sst pipes with turbine silencers. You'll love them plus the spark arrester are built in for a clean look.
Keno
I'm thinking the Oil Plug size is M14x1.
Jfuzzyman bansheelover99
I’m pretty sure it is m14x 1.5, cause I know the thread size is 1:5 but the diameter is at least bigger than m12 cause m12 is the biggest tap I have and wasn’t big enough to clean the threads in my case( where the drain plug goes)
