Cartersbanshee Posted February 25, 2017 Author Report Posted February 25, 2017 Update: The pipes are on an they sound/Look great. Have a question about the jetting though. I did a plug chop 1st-3rd and the spark plugs were white no color at all. #320 main jets in it now. I'm at sea level running klotz 28:1, toomey needle in 4th slot with all the mods listed. Should I jump up to like a #360 main jet to get a chocolate/black ring during plug chop? Quote
Strm Trpr Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 FFS, why are you mixing your fuel at 28:1 with klotz? Which klotz are you mixing? Quote
Cartersbanshee Posted February 26, 2017 Author Report Posted February 26, 2017 Supertechniplate with 93 octane..just figured alittle more oil wouldn't hurt :\ Didn't think it mattered as long as you were jetted for it? Quote
Strm Trpr Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 28:1 has 30% less fuel than 40:1. My jetting with the following mods at sea level were: 91 octane mixed 40:1 w/YamaLube 2R T5's stk bore/stk port/stk head Chariot billet reed cages w/2stage boyesen reeds Chariot billet non cross-over intakes Stk bored carbs K&N pods w/outerwears +4* timing 27.5 pilots stk needles w/needle clip in the middle groove 310 mains A true plug chop is done going through all 6 gears WFO, pull in the clutch, kill motor, stop safely, remove and replace plugs to be chopped. Strm Trpr Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Obviously my jetting seems way lean to you, but my fuel to oil ratio is much richer, 30% more fuel than you. Quote
RagunCajun Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Hey hey. I run 32:1 all day. We have a bad mosquito problem here and the smoke keeps me safe from West Nile. 1 Quote
Cartersbanshee Posted February 27, 2017 Author Report Posted February 27, 2017 I'm bored over 30, just figured more oil would be good..I'll go up to 32:1 though. So 1-3rd plug chop would still leave the plugs white? Didn't have much room to stretch her out but I will next week. Ordered #360 mains to see if I can richen it up. Quote

I would mix the fuel/oil at 40:1. Quote
Cartersbanshee Posted February 28, 2017 Author Report Posted February 28, 2017 Thanks, I'll try it again 1-6th an see what happens. Quote
