StonedBanshee
Both of my cylinders are hitting good but one smokes more than the other. It runs fine but I'm afraid it's running lean on one side.
boonman
Which cylinder is smoking more? What does it smell like? if it smells god awful on the right side, you blew a crank seal
boonman
I didn't even realize it. But with a name like "stoned banshee" I am not sure about which "pipe(s)" you are referring to?
txblueshee
Maybe one is just inhaling more than the other???? Check and see if your idle screws are even(big silver ones on back of the carbs) Mike
Banchetta
ONe plug could be fouling faster than the other or your carbs could be out of sync..
StonedBanshee
The right side is the one thats smoking good. I just built it about four months ago. I think I might have got the yamabond to thin somewhere on the cases. The T.O.R.S. are removed. Also I'm refering to my Banshee's pipes not mine. txblueshee
Every once and a while my right/left pipes will smoke more than the other one until it's warmed up. I'm thinking its the packing in the pipes. Mike

.
I forget which one it is on mine, the left one if I'm thinking correctly. my carbs are sync'd, jetting is accurate, no airleaks, air screws are adjusted the same, everything is perfect on it. But the one side smokes a little more than the other. It always has. And when I took the pipes off that one has a little more residue on the inside than the other pipe. Only thing I can guess is that the one carb doesnt atomize the fuel as well. I've even put different cylinders on and it still does it. I remembered back about the fuel line length maybe having something to do with it, but I cant see that being it. I just run with it. When its cold and smoking you can really notice it, but when it warms up, the smoke basically disappears out of the one, but you can slightly see it out the other. I guess I'll figure it out when I get portwork done and throw some taperbored 30's on it eventually.
Demon350
mines used to smoke more than the other, but since i got new pipes you dont notice it, i think of it as the banshees personal character no performance loss on mines tho, maby it is your airscrews, after adjusting mines it seemed to go...
