BoDo89
Hi guys, Im new on this forum and I want your opinions. Im a new banshee owner and my connecting rod just broke same for my right piston and cylinder. I have a 2001 banshee with fmf gold series pipe, cool end head, vforce3 reed, stock carbs, I was wondering if I buy a hotrod stroker +4mm crank assembly, can it fit with an athena big bore kit ? bigweav81
Can it work? Yes, but not the best route to go. You already have Athena cylinders? If not go with a 4mil, and have your stockers ported. Sent from my SM-S820L using Tapatalk
BoDo89
By 4mil you mean the crank ?
dankengineering
Yes, buy the 4mil crank and have your stock cylinders ported for your setup.
bigweav81
By 4mil you mean the crank ?Yes. Do you have the athena kit already? You should check out driveline performance. They have better aftermarket cylinders for $100 more then the athena kit if I remember correctly. BoDo89
No i dont have the athena yet and i think ill get the assassin kit instead. Another question, might sound dumb tho, the ''+4mm'' does it stand for the timing ? Edited August 26, 2016 by BoDo89
bigweav81
No it means 4mil of extra stroke. +4 timing is 4 degrees of advanced timing. Call driveline, and talk to Lane, or Bill. They could get you lined out. Search, and learn. All the info you need is stored around here somewhere. Good luck. sheerider11
Do some searching, you'll find more then you ever bargained for. You'll lose your wallet if you have no self control too.
bigweav81
What kind of riding do you do? What's your budget? Reason I ask is ported stockers could be all you need. That would leave extra monies to show your trans some love. Shit becomes an addiction rather quickly. BoDo89
Mostly trails but dune too. I was planning to save a bit in winter so by spring i would have all my stock. And yeah i think it will be an addiction prob ^^
Larry's Shee
presume that because you're looking at cylinders you tore up your stockers ?? Driveline is still the best bang for the buck !! Odds are if you got a used set of stock cyls, they would still need to be bored, so figure $350+ for pistons and boring, plus $$ for cylinders , still monies ahead with DL. BoDo89
yeah my stocker are done. Im looking for big bore stroker and im pretty sure ill get those assassin bore ! Do you recommand them for some1 who does trail with some dunes ? I'll need to get new carbs for that, are the 38mm keihin a good fit ? bigweav81
Call driveline. They offer two versions, or custom porting I believe. If your riding tight trails I doubt you want 38mm carbs.
