Shamrock
I have had my banshee for maybe 6 months and when I got it, some parts were parted out. I had to rebuild the engine, and buy new coil and CDI. The first time I started it, it ran great for maybe a month and then it just got really boggy and died and wouldn't start. I took it to a shop near me and they said the CDI was bad so I replaced it. It ran great for about 5 minutes and died and acted the same. The I took it back and this time they replaced the CDI again for free and it did the same thing. I told the shop this the next time I brought it in and told them to check for anything killing the CDI's and they guaranteed me everything was okay and I just got a couple of bad CDI's. So they replaced another CDI and the same thing happened. Could there be something killing these CDI's? Sorry for the long post and thanks for reading in advance. hercalmighty
Are you getting oem or aftermarket Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk
J-Madd
Probably not the CDI. How did they determine that was the problem? There is no way to test them, and actually it is kind of rare that they go bad.
locogato11283
You must have a bad ground or short somewhere. Is the wiring harness all fucked up?
Shamrock
Well I've had 3 different brands including a stock Yamaha. They just swapped the CDI out for one they he in stock and it runs. The wiring harness is what I thought was the problem but it seems fine to me and my dad. Maybe I should just get a new harness instead of 300-400 for a new CDI. locogato11283
Cory Kennedy, a BansheeHQ sponsor can build you a brand new one that hasn't been messed with.
