arena314
so I threw a new top end on my banshee originally planning to send the jugs in get them bored over port and polished and fitted with wiseco pistons. I found an ad of someone selling freshly bored ported and honed cylinders that looked great and he had all the gaskets and everything I needed for the rebuild and the jugs were fitted with namura pistons. I didn't have a problem with that because I always thought namura was a good brand I know there cast pistons but I thought they were at least as good as stock. so I put the bike together and it runs great then I started hearing all sorts of bad things about namura and how I'm going to crack the piston skirts and destroy the motor. has anyone ever had good luck with namura pistons before? like I said if I knew this stuff I would not have got them but now it's to late and the banshee runs good. did I make a big mistake? thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

arena314
the shee runs good it's probably at about 2 hours now so I got on it a little and it seems to do fine. have you ever ran namura pistons or witness any horror stories from these products? Larry's Shee
Advantage of cast is less warm-up Disadvantage they tend to shatter when worn out.

arena314
but will I be able to get a good 30 or 40 hours out of them? people say they've had cast pistons crack on the 3rd ride. I trail ride for the most part but I do beat on it when I get the chance I'd say about 75% of the time I ride it Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Larry's Shee
Well, stock cast last a long time. Can't say about Namura . Hopefully somebody will. I say run the fuckers. You have an extra set of cylinders. You can take your time getting them bored and ported. By chance, do you know if it was a fresh bore for the new pistons? That might make a difference if they threw new piston in an old hole. If it isn't together yet have it measured for out of round, taper, and piston clearance. sleeper06
Like Larry said, if holes were meant for Pistons and bore is good and round should be alright , it's when people don't take piston to cylinder clearance in mind that things get hairy and good products get a bad name
arena314
the cylinders were cleaned up very well and I didn't check clearances but the pistons were 65.5 mm instead of the stock 64 mm so I'd say they whoever did it made sure they put the right set of pistons to fit it Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
sangheraent
People run cheap ass pistons in sleds all the time. Those pistons are huge and take way more abuse and seem to work. Sent from my STV100-3 using Tapatalk
O/CbansheeRider
I put a namura piston in my kids cr125 bout 2 years ago. Still runs strong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

rjdgriff
I have a freshly build 4mill with WSM pistons in it no problem at all. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk How is that relevant? Trail Bikes, FTW
bigweav81
How is that relevant? Trail Bikes, FTW Kind of what I thought. When searching wsm pistons awhile back I saw some cast that resembled namura. Other then that I agree.
