theputz
Hey guys. I have a 421 I go some 300ft sand drags with but also dune. For this reason I have a +8 swing arm, if only dragging I would have went longer. In one class I can use a wheely bar so it's not an issue. In another I cannot. I use a strut with the wheely bar and have lowered it where the swing arm is parallel with the ground yet it still lifts. I am thinking in this class I may need to put my 14 paddles aside and run my 10s. What are my options to help keep the front down and not impact my times as much. Thanks. sheerider11
i think this is where fine tuning your lock up clutch will pay off... if I remember right in the drag forum section.. theres a thread with very useful information on clutch set ups for best launches ect.... do a search and it should pop upThis. Surfrjag
Play around with tire pressure and or use less tire. Consistency is also important.
theputz
Make the front farther forward. Ditch the strut and run a shock, could absorb the lift by allowing the swingarm to move. Add a little weight to the front of the quad. Have +2 a arms

trickedcarbine
Raise tire pressure. Get a good shock that is adjustable, or play with strut length. Start to learn the clutch. If it's violent like you said, the solution isn't more weight. I'd play with spring pressure first then weight.

It carried the wheels 6-8"s with a +8 arm, shocks & 14 paddle haulers. The bike ran 3.80s on the track with struts & wheelie bar, bike was no slouch. The clutch tuning thread is pinned in the Drag Section & it was authored by myself. Lots of great info, in my opinion. LOL!

RadarRacing
The easiest way to just keep the front end down like said for being consistent is adding air to tires or less tire. It wont however make it faster. To consistently be quicker and keep the front down , you need a longer swingarm. A +10 can still be quick with a bar or without. A stock frame 397 cub with shearer inframes went 3.89 with no bar, +10 swingarm a couple years ago.
