R/S Crank Seal Air Leak

Recommended Posts

The intake bot was never bonded to the metal.  The boot was mounted by a bolt on each side of the rubber boot.  With the weight of the carb and filter it ended up pulling the top of the boot away from the metal causing the leak. As jayzx10r mentioned, I am gonna have to ditch that shitty manifold and go for the UPP intake boots.  Next question then, should I get with or without the crossover tube ports.  I am not sure if the crossover tube is required?  Thanks.

ive never liked the idea of one piece manifolds. if there isn't a straight plane across both cylinders then you can have a leak. same goes for the head. most people don't think to put a straight edge across the cylinder tops or inlets but if you do you might be surprised what you see

Amen.
