r_gillies
Owned quad for about ten years now and it had a very hard life before me. Last fall went through crank and bored out cylinders to run 66mm wossner Pistons. Used proper engine gaskets for large bore. Stock timing, head, carbs. Pc pipes and midrange porting. Rode about 6 tanks and seized mag side crank bearing. Bearing piled up so hard it pushed crank apart. Upon closer look my Pistons are hitting stock factory head right at edge of squish band. I'd like any suggestions on how to properly modify a replacement head and approximately what it would cost. Thanks. r_gillies
My machinist said Pistons were tapered down at squish band no head mod needed. is it possible that using the thin cometic base gaskets caused this as oem are quite thick.
