Larry's Shee
Best "Tool" for DIY is a Clymers Repair Manual. Tells how to leak down test, check head for warp. Not a fan of reusing gaskets, the head is a one use only gasket.

Larry's Shee
The head gasket has a ridge that gets flattened when torqued. Second time used, no ridge. That's also why it's marked "UP".

sheerider11
Did uou tq cylinders prior to head? Are they level? Are we even sure it's a coolant leak?
gregckrt1
Did uou tq cylinders prior to head? Are they level? Are we even sure it's a coolant leak? I torqued them starting at 10 15 and then 20 and I did like 21-22 bc I had a extension on the ratchet. Everything looks pretty even as far as how far the studs stick out the top the head. And No were not 100% sure about the coolant leak I re used the bottom gaskets(which are like cardboard it felt like?) it doesn't look like it's leaking and I had it started for a couple seconds stall out Then kicked it again boom backfire Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk

Might be a dumb question but say I called auto zone and asked for a 2 stroke leak down test and they said they had one but not for 2 strokes. Does it matter or does it matter Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk

hoppedupandcutdown
Get one for an import car, as long as it fits the radiator neck, it'll work. For the cooling system pressure test.
