J-teezy
I recently installed v-force 4 reeds on my 02. When installing the very last bolt, I was tightening it up when all of a sudden it broke loose. Now I can only get the bolt so tight (just over finger tight) before it loosens up. Is it possible to just get a longer bolt 30mm or will I need to rethread the hole? Is this common? I hadn't even torqued on the bolt yet! I thinks it supposed to be around 8ft-lbs. Thanks in advance!!
banshee#527
I've stripped mine before. Get a Heli-Coil kit and re-thread it.
J-teezy
That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the heads up!
registered user
threads don't strip on their own. so clearly it was over torqed at some point. either by you or someone previously. m6 are commonly used on reedvalves and normally call for 5-7ftlb. going beyond 7 is unnesecarry and only asking for trouble. problem with using a ratchet is most people likely go way past 7 without even realizing it
