barry1me
I just dropped my motor off today to a local builder that is a sponsor on here. He said he builds with the Vito Crank that is 4mm with short crank (110) I believe. He rechambers the stock head. He said this is a great running setup. Curious your thorughts on short vs long Vito crank, and this style build.
sheerider11
NO SHORT ROD!! Why won't you ask first shoot later??
barry1me
NO SHORT ROD!! Why won't you ask first shoot later?? Didnt know there was such a thing until I dropped it off. It is hard to be an expert on all things banshee. I havent paid anything yet. Builder is Tyson racing. He says that his short rod is a better setup then long rod. trickedcarbine
The newer style vitos seem pretty stout. I'd imagine Brad still feels the short rod stuff revs faster.
sheerider11
My short rod long rod statement is irrelevant honestly. You will get mixed answers. But I'm just pointing out the fact. Ask first for advise. I won't run a short rod again. Been there done that. Won't go back. I'm pretty curious aniut the long vs short rod thing. I fully understand the principle behind it, but I wonder if it make that munch difference in practice. No. But having to bore my cylinders to get rid of the egg shape wasn't worth it. I had a vitos crank. It was a great looking piece. But I should have gone long rod. Bennett131
Vitos crank is on par with hot rods imo
barry1me
So Vito makes a Long rod and short rod 4mm setup? The egg shape wear is concerning to me. I need to look into this more.
bigweav81
Just buy a 4mil 115 rodout of the two brands you mentioned. It's not a big difference in cost. A lot of ppl run the long rod some don't. sent from yo mammy house.
barry1me
What is a better supporting mod for a 4mm build. CPI pipes (over trinity Stage 4) with stock carbs or 35mm carbs with (trinity Stage 4s)
jbooker82
If you cannot feel the difference why wouldn't you go with the one that is in theory easier on parts? It's not like your going to miss something that you can not feel.
bluebanshee98
I think the pipes with stock carbs will be better but IMO you should do both. Dont half ass it
ClaudeMachining
Some peeps believe the short rod (weighing less) revs faster than a long rod. Ask your wife, you got a short rod!! lol!!
kennethbrantley5
Myself and at least 4 of my friends are running short rods, we love them. Two of my friends are running long rods . I've rode both its just personal preference. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
