J-Madd
260 mains seem small to me for his setup. Hell 280s seem small.
Panthers06232
had 290s in it and it fogged mosquitos loaded up fouled plugs pumping straight oil out of the tank and got about 30 miles to a tank of fuel
Strm Trpr
I told you what you need. Especially when you go to 50:1.
Panthers06232
I'll put the 260 in it rip it around plug chop and see how it looks
sheerider11
260 mains seem small to me for his setup. Hell 280s seem small. This guy knows a lot more then a lot of people here. If he says the 280 seems small, then the 260 is way to small.
Strm Trpr
He has FMF Fatties Boyesen Reeds Air box lid off w/K&N Why does he need 280's at 900 asl with those mods? At 50:1 with Amsoil 280's will be rich af... To the OP. Start at 280. Get bike to operating temp with old plugs. Put in fresh set gapped to .020". Bring old plugs with you and a 13/16 wrench. Run that bitch WFO in every gear to the top of 6th and hold it for a second or two. Pull in clutch and kill motor. Stop pull plugs and put old plugs back in. Ride back to garage and remove the threaded portion of your spark plug off. You want a light brown ring around the base of the porcelain about 2-3mm thick. J-Madd
I don't run gas much. I just know I've seen them run with 350s with that setup and not foul plugs. I run my stocker with T5s and +4 timing with 350s. If the very day riders run them with that small of a main then listen to them. I hit 6th WOT in mine a lot so the big main keeps it safe. If you never see the top of 6th a much smaller main would be good.
Strm Trpr
I've been running 310's with all my mods at sea level to the top of 6th all the time. I've probably run 50 gallons of fuel thru the motor modded and tuned like you see in my profile.
sheerider11
290 is what we run here at sea level. With about the same mods. I don't know how much 900 affects it. But 27.5 290 is usually the safe go to with pipes and filter
Strm Trpr
I must be on the ragged edge with these mods. | RB Designs Bored Stock Carbs w/K&N Pods and Outerwears | | 27.5 pilots 1 turn out | stk needles 4th groove | 310 mains | | Chariot Timing Plate w/+4* | | Chariot Billet non-Crossover Intakes | | Chariot Billet Reed Cages w/Boyesen Stage 2 Reeds | | Toomey T5's |

It's never been beat drag racing by other bolt on molded Banshee or any piped 450s. I don't mean that sarcastically. Mine probably is very rich. Yall ride a lot more than me if those smaller jets work then I'm sorry to steer OP otherwise.

It obviously works just fine as it is, but it might work better.
