Panthers06232
Hey guys my new banshee im going through the 2002 limited edition finally got it running right it was jetted rich and missing the choke crossover tube. Now that shes running the way I want here is my problem my fmf silencers are just coated in oil like it was blowing straight oil out the back of this thing what is the best way to clean that up
Panthers06232
im mixing 32:1 with amisoil interceptor im gonna repack the silencers how hard of a job is that ive never done it
Strm Trpr
I know Amsoil Interceptor is formulated to run premixed at 50:1. Running it much richer than that yields problems. https://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/motor-oil/2-stroke/interceptor-synthetic-2-stroke-oil/?code=AITQT-EA Repacking silencers is very easy. I think RMATV sells FMF silencer repacking. If your silencer end caps are riveted on you'll need new rivets and a rivet gun possibly unless you can get the silencers apart from the stinger tube to silencer interface,
Panthers06232
so should I go to 50:
Strm Trpr
If you're going to run that oil, then yes. When you lean your mixture out, you're going to have to rejet. Mixing leaner yields a richer fuel to oil ratio, so you'll have to lean out your jets because you'll have more fuel parts per million than oil parts per million than your current mix of 32:1. 32:1 means 32 parts fuel to 1 part oil. 50:1 means 50 parts fuel to 1 part oil, follow? 12.5oz to 5 gals is ~50:1. I run Yamalube 2R at 40:1. That's exactly 1pt, 16oz to 5 gals. Super convenient and no measuring at all. Simply dump a pint into a 5 gallon jug, fill with exactly 5 gallons and presto, ready to rock!!

Strm Trpr
Do you still have TORS boxes on your carbs? Can you set idle to 1500rpms? Can you sync your carbs at idle and at 5,000 rpm? Can you do a leakdown test? Set floats to: Then once that's all done and puss, jets should be 27.5 pilots, 260 mains and needle clips middle groove to start. Then do a proper plug chop to check your main jets. You'll want your airscrews between 1 to 2 turns out. Chances are with 27.5 pilots you'll be closer to 1 turn out. You want the throttle to snap off idle when you crack the throttle, no bog. Bog is lean. If you find yourself less than 1 turn out, go up a pilot size.
