tdod101
Alright. Heres the deal, I got a 4 mil dune port motor from redline, everyone seems to say get cpi pipes and silencers. Heres the problem, I don't sand dune very often, once a year and that's if I even come to the states to do it. The rest of my riding is open gravel roads (old logging roads) and some mild wood trail stuff with no mud. I'm starting to learn more about pipes now then before. But still looking for recommendations, I was told cpi because its a good dune pipe. But like I said, I don't dune often. What else can I get away with on this thing? I've been told SLP, FMF fatty, keep the t5's. Shearer. I'll take over all smooth performance through out low mid and top end, kinda looking for a versatile exhaust that will work well with everything I have. 4mil dune port redline Cool head with cdomes for pump gas 94 octane +4 timing Stock carbs/may switch to 28mm pwk Vforce 4 reeds. tdod101
Youl like CPI tdod SLP will fall short on open roads Shearer will yield you more peak but youl miss that lower end when you need it. You live in Ontario, you know what kind of riding around here is like, what type of power curve do the CPI provide.top mid?
Strm Trpr
Word around the campfire is to go to a 15T front sprocket when running SLP's.
tdod101
CPI will let that motor work well with what your doing... In tighter trails youl need to feather the clutch some but youl have that mid top power when you want it. Shearers will steal from your low end ability a little too much IMO... the CPI's have a better all around profile then other drag pipes.. SLP and other "trail" pipes will fall short on those open roads leaving you with wanting more. These bikes are not really a bike that offers "all around" good performance... you really need to give up on one side to gain on the other. Very interesting, thanks Jesse. Word around the campfire is to go to a 15T front sprocket when running SLP's. Im running 15/40 gearing right now.
Strm Trpr
Im running 15/40 gearing right now. Just curious, how much do you weigh and what size rear tires are you running and what size paddles when you go to the sand? With the 4 mil dune port and 15/40 gearing, can you launch in 2nd gear in the sand with paddles?

I haven't tried the new motor with paddles yet, but i just borrow a friends, not sure what size they are, What i have right now is stock rims and stock size maxxis razor rears. 87sheerips
SLP does not fall short. Dont let the dyno graph fool you. You just have to gear properly. They kick ass cant wait to install my set on this 4mil FAST serval. $540 shipped and they are in stock FTW http://www.jdscustoms.com/product/slp-yamaha-banshee-pipes/ use "save5" code when you checkout to save another 5%

trickedcarbine
What pipes are in it now, what do you like and dislike about them? What do you want the bike to do differently? What type of riding do you do? "Dune" at this point pretty much means potent midrange. If you ride fields or any open trails where you wanna be able to wind it out, "dune" type power is pretty friggin sweet.

I got T5's right now but they are beat to hell, tired and need to be taken out back and shot. I just want my motor to be used to its full potential. My main riding is up north, minor woods trails and open gravel logging roads. I like to putt around a bit to just killing time. I don't ride very often anymore, that's the problem, 2 - 3x times a year at best
Strm Trpr
SLP's have very impressive bottom-mid but sign off early. I've ridden them on a stk geared 350 dune port and it straight got up and boogied, but ran out of steam quick... Gear for SLP's and you could have a badass machine. Problem is I have no idea where gearing should be for SLP's. You're already at 15/40 gearing. That's like going down 4 teeth in the rear sprocket from 14/41. To me SLP's do not let Banshee's be Banshee's, but the bottom-end is waaayyy better than stock too, so take it for what's it's worth. Here's JD's Redline 4 mil stk cyl with SLP's and CPI's. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?/topic/175499-jdss-redline-4mm-stock-cylinder/
