He toke it off for winter, snow kept piling up. he didnt like it, toke it off, and never put it bac on. He say he liked it, proteceted him w/ tree, and rocks and stuff. It depends on how worried u r. some swear by them, but i didnt like it on mine, so never baought any. If ur intrested, pm me, i can give u more details. Peace out. evil
i have a dg one and love it, just the added protection alone on the trails is worth it, not to mention if you stuff it on a big jump it helps keep the frame from burying itself. id recamend one, its your call though. later

mrmatt
The full skid plates sound like a cleaning nightmare. Has anyone actually cracked a case from hitting something?
txblueshee
The full skid plates sound like a cleaning nightmare. Has anyone actually cracked a case from hitting something? Matt, Actually if you look underneath your quad it has a tilt to it... When you spray water and crud into the skid it all runs out the back/front.. depending on your tire choice. The only part you have to wipe is were it hangs out a tad over the sides, as for cracking the case on impact... I have no clue if anyone has ever done it. But I have heard of rocks coming in at high speeds, stumps getting logged and other objects hidden in tall grass cracking the case. Also it helps you slide over objects that you case out over w/ out scratching your frame all to hell. Mike

Has anyone actually cracked a case from hitting something? i tweaked the hell out of a frame casing a jump, if i had the plate on there it wouldnt of been as bad, and yes it cracked parts of the frame too. txblueshee
Under your frame... right under the engine.....goes from a-arms to swingarm.... I really reccomend a swingarm skid b4 the engine one though. Mike
Lanky
stumps getting logged and other objects I had that happen to me. There was no damage though. I was running 18 inch turf tamers and I was in 2nd wide open and the frame cought on a little stump and I almost went over the bars.
