banshee#527 Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 Working on getting my banshee running again. Its been sitting in my garage for 6 years. Switching up from a Trinity single carb setup to dual 28mm keihin pwks. Engine is stock. Got some new SLP pipes, K&N air box lid, 1 SLP 2 inch flow rite for the air box. Going to upgrade from VF2 to VF4 reeds. Anyone give me a base line for jetting? Riding around 500 feet above sea level Quote
Surfrjag Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 i would start with 48 pilot jjh or n68a needle 145 main Quote
banshee#527 Posted March 16, 2016 Author Report Posted March 16, 2016 Cool. I'll order some jets. Have the jjh needles already. Quote
banshee#527 Posted March 16, 2016 Author Report Posted March 16, 2016 Forgot to mention that I have +3 timing advance. Will that effect my starting point? Quote

banshee#527 Posted March 21, 2016 Author Report Posted March 21, 2016 Would running a dual feed Pingel be too much for 28mm carbs? Quote
banshee#527 Posted April 7, 2016 Author Report Posted April 7, 2016 Just realized that my carbs have different sized fuel inlet nipples. One is for 5/16 fuel line the other is for 1/4 line . If I reduce a 5/16 line down to a 1/4 line will that throw anything off being that 2 different sized lines are feeding my carbs? Quote
sleeper06 Posted April 8, 2016 Report Posted April 8, 2016 Should be 1/4 on both , change as a pair with same line Quote
banshee#527 Posted April 9, 2016 Author Report Posted April 9, 2016 Picked up some 1/4 fuel line today. Bit of a tight fit over the one carb and pingel but I guess theres nothing wrong with a 'tight fit' Thanks for the help. Quote
banshee#527 Posted May 8, 2016 Author Report Posted May 8, 2016 Well I finally got it running today. Got a bit of a bog off of idle. Wants to stall out when letting the clutch out unless I keep the revs up. Running 145 mains, 48 pilot, jjh needles with clip in the 3rd position, air screws are 1 1/2 turns out. Pulls hard once it gets past the bog. Quote
banshee#527 Posted May 8, 2016 Author Report Posted May 8, 2016 Using Maxima castor 927 at 40:1 with 93 octane. Should I start by adjusting the air screws? Quote
banshee#527 Posted May 11, 2016 Author Report Posted May 11, 2016 Does this seem like the pilot is rich? Quote
banshee#527 Posted May 19, 2016 Author Report Posted May 19, 2016 Finally seems to be running happy. 145 main, 48 pilot, moved the clip to 4th position on the needles. Don't have the real estate to do a proper plug chop right now. Quote
