braptor52
Installing a trinity 2into1 setup and air box doesn't sit anywhere close to rear mounts when I mock up the intake boot and carb in the best desirable angle that wouldn't create binding on the boot. Anyone ever install one of these?? It seems like the intake boot doesn't have enough bend to it. Even though it looks the same compared to others. If all my parts are correct then the only other thing I can possibly think of is the motor is sitting further back creating a bind/not enough room to fit the boot in between carb and manifold. Didn't think there was any room for adjustment on the motor? Thought possibly subframe bent where airbox bolts? but everything else seems to line up well. I was going to use spacers on rear air box mounts but then the airbox/coolant bottle will interfere with the plastics if I do that. Really stumped on this one. Went an bought a new pro design kit to use in a airbox cause I ride a lot of creek beds and muddy trails in winter. Granted the front airbox frame mounted support pins are missing (cut off from previous owner) but the airbox should still at least mount up correctly with those missing. Just not have the added support in center. It's a new boot ordered from McDermott. Trinity airbox adapter and intake. Keihin 35mm carb. Stock reed cages. I've heard of a couple other people having this issue but why? McDermott claimed it was from my missing support pins but I know it will still mount in the right position with those missing. Please any tips before I cut the airbox up or cut the plastics up. Thanks guys *first pic shows boot properly located against manifold. *second pic shows the rear airbox mounts if boot is left in correct position *third pic shows the boot resting location when the rear airbox mounts are bolted in place Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sheerider11
Isn't there supposed to be a rubber boot between carb and airbox?
braptor52
Not on these setups. The adapter slides directly onto carb. Also there isn't enough space to fit anything else in there. Can't even remove the set up with out unbolting airbox and the boot from manifold. Have to install as a whole assembly. It's a pain but I really would like to have the airbox. Especially after buying everything to make the airbox work Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sheerider11
Seems like a potential leak for a shit load of dirt. Unless there's some sort of oring, a metal to metal seal won't hold.
sleeper06
Billet back piece is upside down
braptor52
There's a o ring in the metal airbox adapter. Actually a pretty nice fit. I was thinking I had it upside down but it only mounts one way. And I have it correct. Was thinking maybe worn motor mounts? Or bushings? Deadbeat
those other pics show the boot being stressed just force it its rubber

banshee#527
I used tie wraps to hold the air box down since bolt holes didn't line up. It does force the rubber boot down.
