got1banshee
What is the diff in performance from the shorter swimg arm and the longer one? Wouldn't it be harder to realy get on it and keep the front end down with a shorter swing arm? Its hard enough to keep my front end down now in 1-3 with the stock arm. I was thinking about getting a 4" longer swing. Would that be a bad idea? I am building a Vito's 404 big bore stroker moter for it right now. What should I do? Banchetta
Do you run paddles or knobbies???
Yamaha350T
a -2 swingarm doesnt make a banshee wheelie like you think it would, it just handles much better. If your riding in dunes do an extended, or if you hill climb. I'm going to be running a -2 climbing and see how it goes. A +4 would make a shee fell like a limo in a pit. got1banshee
I use pabbles in the sand but I run more in the trails and field
Yamaha350T
if you ride trails and fields, there is no need for a +4, try a -2, its real easy to have done, especially if you have a friend thats a welder

What should I do? if you cant keep your front end down gear it taller, you'll go faster, the -2 has so many benifits, it would take a while to list them all..... banshee tuner
Im running 15-41 gearing, what gear are you running with -2 swingarm
Yamaha350T
Do you have good low end with 15 41 gearing? I dont think you would. You should try a 13 41 setup with 21 inch tires, its a mint setup. I run 14 40 with 22 inchers, but im going to get some 21s, and I ordered a 13 tooth front sprocket. A 40 tooth rear is just a Blaster sprocket, in case your gunna get one.
banshee2sick
I would have to agree about the -2. I had MrMatt cut mine down, and I couldnt say enough good things about his work or the handling enhancement of the shorter swingarm.
Blue Duece
Im running 15-41 gearing, what gear are you running with -2 swingarm im running a 15/40.....most guys riding in dirt like the little taller 15, it makes your bike pull a little nicer than a 14.....i always try to find the spot in between lift and accelration, i want my gears stretched but i also want my front end to rise for ruts and whoops and such also your mods have a lot to do with how well your bike pulls those taller gears, the shorter swing arm helps get what ever you have to the ground, as well as handling better it also changes the weight distribution over the chassis, ive never ridden a shee with a -2 swing arm and stock a-arms though, it really works well when you have a aftermarket aarm thats forward an inch or two
Dextreme
If you are building a 404 and ride in the dunes, I can't see why a shortened swing arm is going to benefit. My opinion is to go with the +4. Here's some pics of mine when I lengthed it... You can see I drilled it out for plug welds and reinforced the inside: http://www.sandlakeduners.com/images/4over.jpg All done and ready for install: http://www.sandlakeduners.com/images/4over2.jpg
