regulate06
Hey guys haven't posted in 10 years just made me a knew username since I can't remember the old one haha..anyways I just put a new 200w ricky stator in, adjustable timing plate still set at 0, new coil, plugs..had a hard time starting it..and when it did it ran intermittently then out of nowhere it starting running fine..carbs have been thoroughly cleaned out, reeds are good no leaks anywhere..took it on a half mile loops around the block and it just died..wouldnt start back up for the life of it..next day kick it and it fires up just fine..shut it off and try it again and nothing..Had no spark so I ohm'd everything and it came back fine..good compression..took the flywheel off inspected woodruff key..timing plate the whole 9…the next day it started after kicking it for 10 minutes and did the same thing..firing intermittently and bogging when giving it too much gas..let it warm up for a while and then it started running right again..loaded it up to take it out the next day and when trying to start it I got hardly anything ran for seconds at a time to damn near nothing..my only thoughts of what could still be wrong is a bad ground occurred, a faulty stator which I've heard if common with good old ricky, or a bad cdi..any help or thoughts would be appreciated..pulling my hair out over this one..went all the way to glamis and had a bike that became a table jetting for the 2 into 1 33pwk carb 195/55 timing at dead balls pickup coil with proper gap and ohm'd on/off switch disconnected when attempting to start no tors no key switch thanks guys -coop

m671054
Bad harness ground?
Larry's Shee
Go through harness looking for a bad wire, all connections clean/tight. Might have to get compulsive harness. Might consider trying a different cdi. Wish I had a dollar for every time someone comes on with an issue with a brand new Ricky that ohms out but don't work. A simple Google search may have saved you a headache.
