Ronaldkrause Posted February 16, 2016 Report Share Posted February 16, 2016 I want to make my shee faster but dont want to spend to much i was thinking of millimg my head and advancing the timing but i dont know if miloing the head is going to kill the engine fast and how difficult is it advancing the timing? tfaith08 Posted February 16, 2016 Report Share Posted February 16, 2016 3 things need to be identified first. 1. What is your desired end-state with the bike? 2. What kind of riding do you do? 3. What's your budget? Milling the head won't kill the engine fast enough that you should consider not doing it. However, an aftermarket head that uses Pro Design domes is the preferred way to do things. You have 2 options to advance the timing: modify the stock timing plate or buy a flywheel puller ($12-15) and a timing plate. The cheapest gain would be to remove the airbox lid and buy some main jets to get the jetting right, but a Pro Design pro flow kit with your choice of filter is the right way to do things. A well setup chassis will outperform a highly modified bike on stock suspension any day of the week where handling is a concern. A1 is for fags. Handeling isn't much of a concern now because i ride mostly new but however i do plan on putting yzf450 shocks on the front of my banshee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The stock banshee engine will outrun the stock frame already. That's why most people will tell you to put $$$ on suspension first. If you are tight on the budget, be patient and watch the add section. You will be able to upgrade your front end ( +2+1 table with shocks) for less than the 1/2 price of new one. 1000$ for upgrades is NOTHING in the Banshee world. Im just not looking to spend over 1000 in the next couple weeks. Because i want to mill my head ($80) buying the timing playe is about 40 and im doing all the work myself so it should be to much.
