locogato11283
I'd run Floats over Elkas if they're comparable pricing.

If you're going to start modifying it, shocks are a good place to start and 700 dollars is a drop in the bucket.
freshsbanshee
Which model would you recommend if I do happen to go with floats Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
registered user
A few reasons. 1. They're cheap. 2. They can't afford real suspension. 3. They don't know how to tune in suspension. theyre also lite. likely the main reason theyre on a ton of drag bikes. I looked into fox and it didn't appear they made any extra lengths other than standard, atleast not that I could find on their site. elka, ohlins and others that are similar are not a good choice when your trying to shave every ounce you can. sure they may have more advanced adjustability but who gives a horses ass when theyre adding 10 lbs. its a shame there isn't a true drag race suspension out there. I just don't think the demand is there for any company to take interest. I wonder what the fox system weighs compared to shaws ?
n2otoofast4u
Have you actually called fox? They are 3 shades past worthless, but they will have just about any length you could ever ask for.
registered user
no i havent called. so fox are no good ? i was just planing on shaws. ya theyre only a notch above no suspension at all but theres not much other choice if you want the lightest setup possible
locogato11283
I run all Fox shocks. Fuck Shaws, unless you want to get beat up all day. You can use a stock length rear shock on a LSR as far as I know. The fronts will have to be Shaws unless you can find a Float that's 12-13". registered user
is the rear shaw supposed to compress a 1/2" or so when you sit on the bike ? mine seems stiff as a board. barely even moves if you jump on the pegs. seems like I may have to let out some pressure
