Horney
ok guys, i really need yalls help, ive tried everything and talked to alot of people and still having great diffuculties, i have a 2001 banshee that is second owner and in greta condition, top end was rebuilt professionally, and it ran great, just wouldnt idle, so i disconnected all the tors and left the carb caps on but i tapped a hole in the thumb throttle housing and put a bot in it so i can easily adjust idl on both carbs at same time, it ran perfect and idled perfect, then i noticed during warm up later on more smoke was coming from left than right, then it came to the point it wouldnt crank up with out spraying it with eather, even before it was hard to start occasionally, but when it does start now the whole right cylinder is making no exhaust whatsoever, just blowing out cold air, both cylinders have great compression, both are making great spark, i even switched plug wires and new plugs, i completly disassembled both carbuartors and rebuilt them back the same way and adjustments as they were before when it was running great, so its not carb issues, not spark, not fuel, not air, not compression, its only running on one cylinder!! i thought it may be the reeds so i pulled them and they look perfectly fine even upon careful examination, i really miss my banshee and im having serious withdrawal issues, please put in your input, why is it doing this when there are no logical explanition, my bottom end is also in great condition, not a single issue i had everything carefully checked everything when tranny was cut, stock bore and stock stroke, please oh please help me

Larry's Shee
BTW, most everything been covered. Set the floats when fucking with carbs? Slides in correct carbs? Float bowl with BB on front on left carb. Sure float needles opening and or closing properly?
Horney
I didn't change the adjustments on floats. did replace the pilot jet. and I kinda was thinking the pickup gap or timing plate. but my spark is a strong healthy spark. could it be sending spark at the wrong times? I unplugged the tors brain and took out everything out of the tors carb cap. but left the throttle linkage. only reason I removed tors is cause the idle adjustment broke on right side. what about the reeds? I have spent hours on this and I really miss it Sent from my XT901 using Tapatalk

speeshee
Had the same problem. I rebuilt the motor (needed it anyways) and carbs. Also checked and rechecked almost everything that was mentioned here but I found that it was a parking brake safety system wire. Or at least I think it was something like that, it came out of the parking brake area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Horney
mine didn't even have a parking brake on it when I got it. in guessing its been deleted. Sent from my XT901 using Tapatalk

speeshee
Well check ALL wires. Even if I'm wrong it's better to be safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Horney
thank you guys. I'll work on it some more asap. post what I find. Larry's Shee
What does the spark look like? You have stock Stator? Fresh fuel? When you have carbs apart it costs zero to check float level. When chasing a problem you have to double/tripple check everything. At this point wouldn't hurt to ohm Stator, coil, plug caps. Horney
the first owner said it sat for 2 years. replaced stator and put on timing plate. fired up first kick. and the spark looks great.
