350YFZ
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and the proud new owner of a 2000 Banshee, and I'm pumped! After blasting around my neighborhood in the snow, I did some first maintenance like replaced the air filter, spark plugs, crank oil, etc, but now I have become obsessed with which premix to use. I typically use VP T2 in my 2-stroke MX bike, but I haven't seen any mention of it on this forum when I did a search. Does anyone use T2 in their Banshee? I ordered a case of Amsoil Dominator if the T2 doesn't work out. I can always mix this with C12 or Sunoco race that a local race engine builder always has on hand. Thanks in advance for your answers. trickedcarbine
That's a pretty new product. They gave me a small one for free when I bought some VP113 at a VP dealer as a spring promotion. Just enough to mix in the 5 gallon jug. Seemed to run pretty well. Burned clean on the plugs. 350YFZ
Yes I've used it for the last 6months or so. Previously I was having issues with the ethanol in the pump gas clogging up carbs, but haven't had any issues since I started using the T2. I also use VP T4 in my 4-stroke MX bike and it also works really well. It has a snappier throttle response and always starts on first button push even after it's been sitting. 350YFZ
I'm it sure if the other bikes need it, but they sure run much better on it. The longest they sat with pump gas was a couple months and they had ethanol-related carb problems. Draining the float bowls has cut down on this somewhat but the floats still get stuck occasionally. Since using the VP dad they have sat for just as long if not longer and always start on the first or second kick, and I don't even drain the float bowl. This may be an issue with KTMs because the Banshee starts on the first or second kick with pump gas that was in it when I bought it, and I think it had been sitting a while, so there may not be an issue with these bikes that's why I was trying to survey the group her me to see if anyone else has had any carb problems related to using pump gas. I am going to try 93 octane pump gas with the Dominator and see how that goes. Just curious, does everyone here drain their float bowls after each ride?
