trickedcarbine
Sorry, I gave the wrong info. It was in an Ice Racing thread. Here is how to ditch the plate. I'd Imagine you could clean it up even more by grinding that section with the bungs off and mount it straight to the engine cradle tube. tfaith08
I definitely want more cut off than that. A1 is for fags.

sleeper06
Your not building a drag bike, if you do what's pictured there it will snap and you will get hurt. Your jumping rite
tfaith08
Yes, it'll need to be more durable for sure, but I don't want that cluster. I've been thinking about it and I think that the 6" x 15/16 OD insert tubing would do well inside of some 15/16 ID (probably 1.5" long) that will also act as a stop for the nerfs. I could gusset the outer piece. A1 is for fags.
trickedcarbine
I definitely want more cut off than that. A1 is for fags. That's what I meant by grind the outer gusset and bungs off so you can mount it directly to the frame tube. Might need to put some sort of collar on the tube though, so that the nerfs sit out where they should.
Bennett131
What cluster are you talking about? I dont know that id feel comfertable running a peg like that on an mx or even a trail bike. To each their own...
tfaith08
This is what I was thinking. Open to suggesions. Green arrow references the rear of the frame.
locogato11283
Seems completely unnecessary to me. DDQ is out there doing some pretty big jumps with what I assume are stock type pegs or nerfs that bolt to OEM mounts. Why do you think you need this? Are you a pro MX rider or are we missing something?
tfaith08
I just want to shave weight. I can't just run off the end of the lowest tube because I'd have to either hack the nerfs or start hacking on the frame even more to make it fit. If I was to weld on an insert, it would have to have additional support. It's just the insert and one bracing tube. That's as simple and effective as I could figure. I think I could net 3lbs from doing this. If it won't work, I'll scrap the idea but I want to find a solution if it's possible to make it work safely and effectively. Bennett131
3 pounds? Fuck this idea. You're way over complicating it.
locogato11283
3 pounds? Fuck this idea. You're way over complicating it. I agree. No offense, but if you have to ask how to do it you probably shouldn't be attempting it yourself.
trickedcarbine
There is 4 square nuts inside there, and two gussets. You are replacing it with a foot and a half of chromoly tube in that drawing. There is no way you are getting rid of 3 lbs. of chassis weight. But I do dig the way that looks.
