Mrtaterman Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 So a trip to Glamis is in the making, o was just curious to what jetting y'all at sea level are using so I can get an idea to what I should bring. Current mods on my bike are fmf sst pipes, vf4 reeds, head milled .015, and Toomey intake. Jetting now is 300 mains, needle in middle position ( if I remember right ) 27.5 pilot. I have many jets, and plan on bringing them all. I would just like a ball park estimate Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk Quote
Jogon30 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 I bet you are going to need a 370 main I'm also at About 5500feet and I'm useing a 290 main and my bike at sea level at Oregon dunes was running good at 370 Quote
Strm Trpr Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 I've seen ported 4mils run 30 pilots and 330 mains. Why are you guys jetted so fat. For instance, Toomey 2 into 1 intake and T5's at sea level run 27.5 pilots and 270 mains. But that's also 75* weather. If you're super cold at altitude, I believe it's up a main jet/20* difference in temp. And up a main jet for every 2000ft you come down in elevation. Quote
Jogon30 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Well right now we're I'm at the weather is cold around 30 degrees maybe 45 highest so far this year Quote
rubberneck Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 figure roughly 1 jet size increase for each 1500 foot drop so im guessing you will have to go up 3 to 4 jet sizes on the mains, im betting your pilots are close at 27.5 maybe need a 30 Quote
Jogon30 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Let me ask you guys a question I run toomy 5's pipes and there website said to use the stock 25poilt or slow jet what does the 27.5 do better? Or why is that a better jet? I see a lot of people useing them. Quote
