JeremyIsHere
Can anyone point me in the right direction as what I need to remove to take out the 1-4 auto trans? Is it a whole different set of transmission gears?
Deadbeat
do you mean 1-4 override, you should introduce yourself a bit and give us some history on this bike you want to mess with
JeremyIsHere
Yes sorry, I'm new here. First banshee, I've had a ton of different bikes and wasn't sure what to call over ride tranny. It's an 01 10mil stroked, 74mm super wampus cylinders and 39mm carbs. My buddy had that bike built for drag racing and I would like to be able to up and down shift just more rideable instead of just go fast. Bennett131
If you're worrying about smooth shifting all around, you don't want an override. Look into a pro mod trans. Why do you only want 4 gears?
JeremyIsHere
I dont, the bike has it. I want to remove it. Question is, do I need to remove all the transmission set and throw a stock set back inm
Deadbeat
you want to trade the override for a promod style trans, (worked over stocker) get all 6 gears back
JeremyIsHere
What's that run?
Bennett131
Your first post is a little misleading. I would remove it and put a pro mod trans in its place then sell the 1-4 (if that's what it is).
Phelps
i have a factory shift drum $30 shipped. you will need a stock drum, remove any springs on the shift fork shafts. that is if 6th hasn't been removed.

A different shift drum and springs? I think the pro-mod Trans might be better with how much power the bike has
Phelps
if it is a override a few of the "pro mod" mods have already been done. every other dog removed etc.
