Is Roll Design worth the cost?

Fireball is with out a doubt my 2nd choice.

And your right, 99% of people here won't need these items.

I have broke 2 name brand swing arms. I don't concider my self an overly aggressive rider.

But I'm much happier with my roll. It is better to have and not need then to need and not have.

OK, here's one of my hillclimb videos from 2013.. The black/green bike is me with the Laeger LT arms and Fox Evols with Stellar +8 arched ladder swingarm and Fox Podium rear shock. That bike had a 24DM in it. Estimated total suspension parts - $3,500 (front and rear shocks, swingarm, a-arms)

The white/blue bike is my brother with Quicksand (only a few people will know that name) arms with Fox Float X shocks and a Turbo Chassis +8 ladder with a Fox Podium rear shock. That bike had an 18DM in it. Estimated total suspension parts - $2,800 (front and rear shocks, swingarm, a-arms)

You'll have to excuse my brother's wrecks. He had only climbed a couple times that year on that setup and the jump timing on that hill is shit.

The slow motion should give you a good idea of how this stuff works. The jumps are deceiving as well as the speeds.

If you REALLY think you need a $3,500 front end after watching this, then this thread is done.

As I've said previously. Not one of those jumps are ever timed even remotely ok. I would imagine it gets old being forced to flat land on the face of a hill by the end of the day.

You still have the hill bike just incase you ever get the itch again?

That hill, in Red Wing, MN, is run/operated by the biggest fucking idiots I've ever encountered in my 10 years of hillclimbing. They could never figure it out.

Yea, both bikes are about 3 hours away from being able to run on a hill should we ever decide to go. I doubt we do.

Need vs. Want

I understand all about that, but if he can buy top of the line parts for the front AND rear for the same price, he will be money ahead.

Fireball, Laeger and LSR are all top of the line.

And most people probably don't know Fireball makes a lot of other company's a-arms. They just slap a sticker on them.

I just went with fireball LT arms and my elka's(only reason i went with elkas is being sprung not air) just showed up yesterday. I researched and  i dont need and wont notice all those higher dollar suspension parts. Especially after coming from STOCK suspension. Some people over think this stuff. But hey, go for it. I personally spent left over money else where on the bike where needed.

I also didnt know about fireballs out the box caster. Looks like ill be buying an angle meter.

If I can get the Roll arms with fireballs raptor tie rods and tie rod ends, that's what I'll do. I won't know if it's possible until I really start going through with it. I'm not sure how all of those components come together, this is my first time tapping into all of this.

Do I need the Roll, no. I will never use it to the potential that's the pros do. I don't plan on ever getting rid of this bike, so I want to get A1 parts. By the time I'm done, I'm looking at about 15 grand into it, and you guys know I will NEVER get that back.
