hercalmighty Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Hey. Finally got the banshee to run and shift right to be able to do a plug chop. I'm thinking lean on the chop but just want to confirm and to see how many sizes I should go up. It was a 5th gear pull since I didn't have the room for a 6th gear pull. hercalmighty Posted January 3, 2016 Author Report Posted January 3, 2016 Forgot to add, I have the timing set at +5. If anyone can give a little insight on how the plugs look for timing that would be great too Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 -Back the timing down a degree. (look at the depositing on the tip of the strap) -172 on the main -Maybe a 52 on pilot (how does adjusting the screw affect it) -Needle I would leave till the main is dialed. Then worry about the transition. One thing at a time. That's assuming this thing really was making enough load/heat to get a good reading in fifth. If that's the case, you're pretty lucky you didn't get it wound out in 6th. Quote
hercalmighty Posted January 3, 2016 Author Report Posted January 3, 2016 Ok cool. Thanks for the input. I think as far as the pilot goes I was adjusting the air screw all the way in to a half turn. The idle was still climbing at a half turn out Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk Quote
hercalmighty Posted January 3, 2016 Author Report Posted January 3, 2016 This is a PV motor. Don't know if that makes a difference in your opinion on the pilot. Here are some pics of the plugs I put about 20 minutes of ride time on. Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Could be rich on pilot and needle and lean up top. The first photo with the small edge of metal that's blackish, was that wet? If so it's probably washing the plugs from being rich. Hard to tell with out crisp photos. Quote
hercalmighty Posted January 3, 2016 Author Report Posted January 3, 2016 The flat of the plug was just a tad oily/wet. I'm thinking about the same with the pilot being fat and the main lean. I tried getting better pics but that was the best I could get. Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk Quote
