kennethbrantley5
Could some please tell me which 4mill crank would be better a long rod or a short rod? And why? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
sheerider11
Long rod. Less side load on the piston against the wall. That will keep the bore true and not egg it out as quick.
kennethbrantley5
As far as the power does a long rod have a little more power? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

kennethbrantley5
The reason I asked I found out my brother is running a 4mill short rod in which he had it for about 3+ years now. I'm wondering the reliability of them because I love the way his shee turns up and bottom end torque. J-Madd
Less weight. The lighter rod is easier to accelerate and decelerate each stroke. This is not to be confused with flywheel weight.
J-Madd
that could be made into a PRO and CON though.. some could benefit with the added weight while others wouldnt Heavier rod is never a PRO. It has to change direction with every stroke. The flywheel is always going the same direction. That's what I meant when I said not to confuse them. sheerider11
My bore was egg shaped after 1 hard season on a short rod. I've gone 3 easy on my long rod and haven't dropped much if any compression.
