Craig B
Looking to buy a cool head or one of the other brands out there. Who makes the best one? Can I use 19 cc domes for C12 or purple race gas? Stock bore and stroke. Thanks.
sheerider11
I run a chariot. I like it. Ive used Noss, pro design, and some other one. There all the same I guess. Pro design uses 3 piece. That's about it. There all the same. Just don't use wicked or trinity. They require there domes
tfaith08
Chariot offers (or used to) a top piece that supposedly adds additional clamping force and worked with their regular head. I use Chariot as well and am very happy.
possum
Chariot has smaller cooling ports on the inside of domes. They will flow less then other heads.

tfaith08
My Chariot head is one piece. I couldn't find it or any pics anywhere, so I sent him a message. It was pretty simple, just a plate cut that fit over the 1-piece chariot head and clamped down. It used extended studs. Then again, it may have been soemthing I thought up. I'd planned to buy one when I built my serval. We'll know for sure when I get a response.
gusto
I love my D&D head.....but will be in the minority here because it's getting pretty rare. I think they are all good, but what you can afford. Don't run race gas, it's a pain in the ass and hard to get in a pinch. I got 21cc domes
kennethbrantley5
Is it wise to use pro design domes with a pro design coolhead or do it matter? Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Craig B
That will be fine even with some timing imo. Thanks. I just bought a adjustable timing plate too.

Chariot Performance
Our head flows perfectly. The coolant enters and exits by a hose that has a certain diameter. 9/16 diameter i.d. if I remember correctly. Our flow ports are divided among the combustion chamber and the cylinder walls for perfect flow. If you look closely at the openings of our water ports and measure them you will find the area to be slightly larger than the area of intake and exit hoses. No other head I have seen has that attention to the size of the ports but they all allow too much flow in the combustion area. Allowing too much there means not enough down into the cylinder walls. tfaith08
Jerry also clarified that my idea about the chariot head was fabricated. I could have sworn that I'd seen it... Then again, it was almost 3 years ago since I shopped for a head.
