Yfz 450 Brake Upgrade Pros & Cons

Recommended Posts

you are both morons lol

im sticking to what i said, it was the best non motor upgrade I i have done to my shee.

i didnt compare the upgrade to anything else like you originally said i did lol and then tried to cover up you were wrong with something completely unrelated lol

i dont give a shit what either of you think, i was simply offering my opinion to someone interested in doing the upgrade.

im not filling this guys thread with anymore posts like im sure you both will. get a life

also, the yfz calipers isn't really that great of a mod, and if it is the best mod you have done to your banshee, you have a pathetic banshee.

Totally false. Night and day difference in front stopping power. It is worth every penny. Suspension mods are great but dollar for dollar brakes get my vote. And yes ive had suspension mods, motor mods you name it. If your a trail rider its highly recomended.

Not having any suspension mods and overstating the quality of the upgrade is one thing.  Having had both is another thing entirely.  What suspesnion did you have again?  I have more than 20x in suspension than I do brakes and I'd still say that suspension is a better dollar for dollar upgrade.

Hey fuck you, you little brown nosing queer wana be smart ass merican

I run LT susp, and pretty well any supporting mod you can think off... i got it....

I did the caliper and mc "mod" and let me say this... yes its more responsive... but both the stock and yfz calipers can lock the wheels... so unless your hauling ass and have the ability to properly use the brakes VS just locking them up there really isnt any big gain other then it acting .05 seconds quicker....... I can bet a GOOD CHUNK of money... that most of you just ram the brakes to lock up the tires.... its a very bad habbit that most people dont even know they have..

I learned pretty quick on "brake control" because when ice racing, locking up the tires is a VERY bad thing

Ok thats what i was thinking too that its still the same and my cousin told me that too that it will still work the same as stock because ive noticed i have locked the brakes up a few times and the end result isnt good lol

As you mentioned locked up brakes are no longer braking. The yfz upgrade provides for better feel and stronger more responsive braking. I spent 75 on calipers and mc. Already had the lines.

For standard travel susp it would need to be 10x better than stock and lt around 20x better to be equal to this.

I run yfz calipers and mc on my Laeger.

For me it was a night and day difference and improvement over Banshee components.

Very noticeable improvement in brake feel and response. Requires far less effort too.

That being said, my rotors are larger diameter then oem yfz, they are a wave design my by Laeger's.

The design of the Pro Trax spindle allows for the caliper to be placed further away from the center line and allowing for the larger rotor.

So my results may be better then typical.
