broke
I have received two different opinions from builders about whether or not my cylinders are usable with a +4 crank. Both builders are well respected and neither has given me a reason to not trust them. My question is can anybody tell me the limits of porting durations when going to a stroker. I really want to run the stroker crank, but don't really want to start over with new jugs. Thanks in advance for any responses. broke
fixitrod
Every builder uses diffrent opening, closing and durantion degrees. I'm sure the builders are correct..... for the way they like a motor to run.
chase73
depends on what type of porting was done to your jugs if the transfers are not that bad lets say a sport port job or a mild port job it can be done. your best bet is to let a builder like Patroit or Passion look at them and let them evaluate them to dicide if it will work. I am building a stroker adn mine were ported prev and I just made the requirments to do it . Good luck
fixitrod
I just got mine back from Andy at grand river racing. The pics are in the images section. He was concerned about the previous porting until he put them on a degree wheel.
broke
Thanks guys. Ironically the two builders you mentioned are the ones that gave me the different opinions. I was much happier with one than the other. They both seem to really know what they're talking about (like I'm a good judge), but I just wanted other opinions. I guess I'll just have to take the plunge, and hope for the best (like marriage). Thanks broke
Indubitably
What ports actually cause a problem when going to a stroker motor? I also have a ported motor and would like to get a stroker crank but I am not sure as to whether not I will be able to. By the way my motor has a Stage 3 port from Trinity so it isn't a full port job.
