allboutwork3203
Hey I'm new to this forum maybe I can get some help from you guys. I was riding my bike one day and came to a stop and the bike cut off I couldn't get it to crank back up, I thought maybe the stator went out so I bought one and my friend came over and said that's not it I have spark so then he said it was flooded so cleaned the carbs and I changes the spark plugs still no crank so he push started it and it started up but gas came out of the tail pipes so he rode around the block and every time he came to a stop it cut off, so he determined that the floats in my carbs are bad, I wanted bigger carbs anyway so I got some 34mm carbs and still didn't crank can you guys give me some input it's my 1st banshee thanks alot Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
The Notorious 1
So you got new stator an new carbs for nothing by the sound of it you don't have a clue.. I will give you a clue. You could have a air leak an or low compression. Have you just got the bike? Do you know if it's jetted correctly? An I wouldn't keep push starting it mate that's not good for it. oldskool
When your bashee has motor issues, a leakdown test is always good to do, so you can rule out airleaks. I would do a compession test as well. Stock banshee is around 125 psi. Your bike will run with maybe a 100psi, but will most likely be hard to start. If you past the leakdown test and have compression, you need to clean your carbs, set floats to proper height for 34mm and then maybe work on jetting and needle location and or needle jet size if these are mikuni carbs. If you bought some used carbs there's no telling what they are set up for. Did this just happen with your old carbs or you bought it like this? Are your air filters/filter clean? allboutwork3203
What's your thoughts on a 4mil or 421 I want something with some power but I still want reliability not just staying in the shop Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
The Notorious 1
Go for it mate Make sure you get your crank welded though. 4mill with a good port job will pull good about the same as a unported serval.
